I really like this new song out, heard it on radio 1, it's called Hometown Glory sung by a girl called Adele.
She's from south London and sounds a bit like Kate Nash and Amy Winehouse but I really like the song!
Check out Adele's myspace page to hear it!

Who looks better?

I really like this dress that Lily Allen and Kate Beckinsale are wearing-not at the same time I should add. I found it on the CatwalkQueen website, which is quite a good website if your into fashion and what the celebs have been wearing, so check it out.
I like the way LilyAllen has worn the dress without the straps because I think they make the dress look abit ugly. And what is up with Kate Beckinsale's shoes? They do not go with the dress at all, then again look at Lilly Allen's chavvy earrings, I know thats her style and whatever but come on! And her hair aswell, she could have styled it. Like the shoes she's wearing though.

Overall I have to give it to Lily Allen, she definately wore the dress better. Kind of surprising I picked her becasue I usually hate what she wears, I mean remeber that dress with the Air Max 90s trainers lol I was like I don't think that's going to catch on, but then I was in Waterloo station the other day and I saw this girl trying to rock it lol, trying anyway!

And people think racism doesn't exist anymore
I was listening to the news when I heard about this story of a primary school who made it's pupils line up in order of skin colour for a class photograph. Why?
Well apparently the photographer advised the teachers to do this as he didn't want to have to keep readjusting he's camera lens. He thought that making the pupils line up in order of colour wasn't offensive and discriminatory.
If I'd have been in that class I would have been very shocked and angred by this. I mean when have you ever heard of this being done before?
When I had to go through the anxiety and embarrassment of a class photo, with everybody rushing around gelling their hair; bursting spots and going through the basic pricking and primping required before having our picture taken, we'd never been asked to do this-I would have remembered.
I mean we're in 2007, you'd think they'd have designed cameras that could deal with all the technicalities that come with professional photography, what are digital cameras for? And anyway even if they haven't I think the photographer should have just gone through the 'pain and distress' of having to change the lens of he's camera than make kids feel awkward and even segregated because of the colour of their skin.
The school has apologised now, of course, as soon as they knew the media had found out. The head master was quick to come out and say it was an "error of judgement" on the school's part. It was more than an error of judgement as far as I'm concerned. How the hell did they think it would be OK to shove the kids into order of colour-not height-colour!
This is racist as far as I'm concerned. How could the teachers not see this as wrong unless they believed it was fine. Putting the black and Asian children in in a different group from the white children was not a problem so long as the poor photographer didn't have to strain he's arms readjusting he's camera lens.
It's pathetic and it's another example of the racism that still exists out there, more subliminal perhaps but still out there. I know there will be people that will read this story and think "oh it was just a stupid mistake or misjudgement but I disagree, not even as a black person but just because the photographer and teachers made a conscious decision to do this I don't excuse racism as ignorance anymore people are fully aware of what their feelings are towards others around them. Its not like in the 60's when people where just plain scared of ethnic minorities because they'd never lived in the same environment. This is decades later, black and asian people have lived in england for long enough for people to have learned to except them and not hate them out of fear.

Happiness, happiness, the greatest that I possess...
Yes you know how the song goes, thing is, is it really the greatest thing you possess?
Of course being happy is a state of mind but is it really possible to make yourself happy?
I don't think so. Things make you happy, people make you happy, in my case chocolate, apple juice and shopping make me happy!
It's so cheesy but how happy are you today? No really how are you feeling today? If you feel like crap or your thinking, "I'm alright...I guess" then your not alone, with a new study claiming that happiness in Britain is on the decline
Apparently people in the 50's were happier than we are now. It seems that we are no longer content even though we have more money than they did, but like they say "more money, more problems" right?
Obviously people are not content because they have so much more choice than people did back in the day.
People had to be happy because there wasn't really any other alternative plus some would say family and not material possessions were the the cause for people's happiness.
Things like Ipods and Nike trainers didn't matter because they didn't exist.
Now we live in a world where everyone wants to be rich and this is seen as the key to happiness.
Even I will admit I associate money with happiness but that's because of clever advertising that has drilled into me the idea that if you want to be really happy you need to be rich.
But really and truthfully I know money alone won't make me happy that's why I added chocolate and apple juice to the list!
Like I said before I don't think you can tell yourself to be happy like those self-help nutters suggest. Really you have to figure why your unhappy and go from there because it's not as simple as thinking positive and having happy thoughts, you have to want to be happy.
Then again there is a side of me that thinks we Brits just love to moan, and most people aren't happy unless their complaining about the weather, public transport, the government, their neighbours, husbands/wives, really, I could go on.
I don't even think it's a bad thing to be unhappy sometimes. I mean imagine someone who was always smiling and overly cheerful all the time ( sadly you probably know someone like this) wouldn't you find a tad irritating? I flipping would!
